DKJ Support Humberside GPs in Writing Their Tender Bids
One of the main areas which we, at DKJ Support Services, provide support on is tender and bid management. But what does that exactly mean? This was the question we were asked to answer by The Humberside Group of Local Medical Committees (LMC) in February.
As part of the 5 Year Forward View and to meet emerging issues facing primary care such as not being able to recruit GPs and financial pressures, Government have suggested that practices should work together including bidding for local tenders will help resolve this crisis. Throughout spring, Humberside LMC have put on a series of events for all local GPs to highlight the areas GPs should know about when Working at Scale.
As part of this, we were asked to to deliver three workshops on what practices should expect from tender documentation and how to write a successful bid. The workshops focused on how to sift through the tender documentation (some can be 100’s of pages long!) to what were the ‘killer questions’ and how to score points in answering these questions. Delegates were then tasked with answering a health environment question, which got a few scratching their heads!
The workshops were very well recieved and many of the delegates have requested a follow up meeting with us. We throughoughly enjoyed delivering the workshops too and hope to work with Humberside LMC in the near future in delivering some bite size training sessions for practice staff in the coming months.
