July 2024 Newsletter

Good afternoon

Well, Summer has finally arrived! This month, we focus on Primary Care Network governance and giving our knowledge and advice on the ever evolving CQC single assessment framework. Our expert insights will guide you in improving leadership structures and navigating the new CQC standards with ease.

As usual, we are running our free PCN Manager’s chat on the first Monday of the month, and our CQC in General Practice chat on the last Thursday of the month. You can book on to these via the Events Page on our website.

As always at DKJ, if you have any questions or want to chat about anything, please get in touch with us any time!

Strengthening PCN Governance: Essential Steps

At DKJ, we are proud to be collaborating with over 130 Primary Care Networks (PCNs) nationwide. One of the crucial areas we assist them with is enhancing their governance structures. Effective governance is the backbone of a successful PCN, ensuring smooth decision-making and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Does Your PCN Have the Following?

  • PCN Governance – Network Agreements, Data Sharing Agreements, PCN Board Terms of Reference and Succession Planning.
  • DES, IIF and CAIP Monitoring and Progress.
  • ARRS Workforce Planning and making sure that you are maximising your budget.
  • 2024/25 DES – looking at CD requirements, CAP requirements and how to meet these, service requirements and using population health management data and tools to meet the DES and working towards and in Integrated Neighbourhood Teams.

Our PCN Health Checks

To support your PCN in achieving governance excellence, we offer comprehensive PCN Health Checks. Our services include:

  • Governance Review: Ensuring your governance documents are up-to-date and effective.
  • Compliance Assessment: Evaluating your compliance with the Directed Enhanced Services (DES) and CAIP Plans.
  • Workforce Arrangements: Reviewing your Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) and other staffing arrangements.

By partnering with us, your PCN can enhance its governance framework, ensuring resilience and readiness for the future. Let us help you navigate the complexities of PCN management and build a strong foundation for sustained success.

CQC Single Assessment Framework Digital Tool: Pathfinder

Over the last few months many practices have been using our CQC Single Assessment Framework Digital Tool Pathfinder to get ready for the SAF. Pathfinder covers all 34 Quality Statements including all the I and We Statements and highlights the different evidence categories for each of the Quality Statements.

Furthermore, as we know some of the Quality Statements can be vague, using our experience in supporting GP Practices with CQC inspections, each Quality Statement has a hints and tips section, so you know what CQC are looking for.

If you would like a free demo or more information about how we are working with practices across the country preparing for CQC, please contact us at cqc@dkjsupportservices.co.uk
