March 2024 Newsletter

Good morning

Spring is nearly here! Whilst we wait for the first daffodils, we also wait for the new GP Contract and PCN DES which should be released imminently.

Our Masterclass this month covers the future of PCNs and what we are seeing by working with over 130 PCNs across the country. We are also doing a number of free PCN Health Checks so that PCNs are ready for the ‘new world’, whatever that may be.

We continue to support practices with being Single Assessment Framework ready including creating and receiving feedback from practice staff, patients and their partners which forms half of how CQC inspect practices nowadays. We also have our Single Assessment Framework Masterclass later in the month touching on all of this.

As always at DKJ, if you have any questions please get in touch with us any time!

Are you wondering what the future of Primary Care Networks are?

  • PAN PCN models and working at a larger footprint.
  • PCN and PAN PCN limited companies and becoming corporate.
  • Focus on leadership at a wider scale.
  • Moving toward working in Integrated Neighbourhood Teams.

Does this look like your PCN? Join our Masterclass on Wednesday 6 March at 13.00. Book your seat below.

After helping to set up over 80 PCNs and currently working with 73 PCNs nationally, we get asked a lot of questions about all things PCN including:

  • Is my Network Agreement up to date?
  • How do I develop my workforce strategy?
  • Is my board effective?
  • How do I assure my Board that we are meeting the DES contractual requirements?
  • What is the best employment model for our PCN?
  • How do I embed the ARRS team?
Should we become a limited company?
  • How do I get prepared for INTs?

We are hosting 1-2-1 sessions for PCNs where we can chat all things related to Primary Care Networks (or even practice related!).

Getting Single Assessment Framework Ready

The way in which CQC assess/inspect your practice has changed and we have been working with a lot of practices to get them Single Assessment Framework ready.

We are doing this by:

  • CQC Workshops focusing on the I statements, We statements, evidence categories and how to get feedback from your staff, patients and partners (3/6 evidence categories).
  • Undertaking CQC Diagnostics based on the 34 Quality Statements.
  • A deep dive into specific Quality Statement Audits using the 6 evidence categories.
  • Undertaking CQC Mock Inspections which looks at all 34 Quality Statements and Evidence Categories.
  • Obtaining feedback from staff, patients and partners (50% of the way in which CQC will be inspecting you) by creating feedback surveys, hosting feedback focus groups, analysing responses and developing action plans.

If you would like some help in getting Single Assessment Framework ready, please do get in touch with us at cqc@dkjsupportservices.co.uk and we would be happy to chat to you about this.
